Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has served up quite a few surprises when naming his final squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
Los Cafeteros will have their work cut out for them in Group A, facing the likes of United States, Paraguay and Costa Rica.
And rather than opting for tried and tested players, coach Jose Pekerman clearly decided to introduce some fresh blood, including a number of players who will be representing the country at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Andres Felipe Roa, Felipe Aguilar, Cristian Bonilla, Marlos Moreno and Roger Martinez are all in the squad that will hold the first stage of preparations in Miami.
Meanwhile, Radamel Falcao, Jackson Martinez, Fredy Guarin and Victor Ibarbo hadn’t even made the provisional squad, and they face a struggle to get back in the side.
As far as high-profile players are concerned, James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, Carlos Bacca and David Ospina have survived the cut.
