Miguel Portugal names Bolivia squad for Argentina, Dominican Republic gamesMiguel Angel Portugal has revealed his first ever Bolivia squad as La Verde are set to face Argentina and Dominican Republic in international friendlies.

The Spanish coach was chosen as the man to replace Mauricio Soria just few days ago and he has now announced his first squad.

The four foreign-based players on the list are Marcelo Martins (54/14), Ricardo Pedriel (20/3), Diego Bejarano (9/1) and Martin Smedberg-Dalence (6/1).

Naturalised players Damian Lizio (6/1) and Pablo Escobar (20/3) have been included as well, but Jhasmani Campos (29/2) misses out.

Coach Miguel Angel Portugal will arrive in Bolivia next week to sign a contract with the national team chiefs before he starts preparing the team for games against Argentina and Dominican Republic.

La Verde kick off the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign on 5 October, hosting Oscar Tabarez’s Uruguay before travelling to Ecuador eight days later.

Goalkeepers: Daniel Vaca (The Strongest), Romel Quiñónez (Bolívar);

Defenders: Miguel Hurtado (Blooming), Ramiro Ballivián (The Strongest), Edward Zenteno (Wilstermann), Marvin Bejarano (Oriente Petrolero), Ronald Raldes (Oriente Petrolero), Edemir Rodríguez (Bolívar), Diego Bejarano (Panetolikos);

Midfielders: Walter Veizaga, Alejandro Chumacero (both The Strongest), Damir Miranda (Bolívar), Joselito Vaca (Blooming), Alejandro Meleán (Oriente Petrolero), Pablo Escobar (The Strongest), Martín Smedberg-Dalence (IFK Goteborg).

Forwards: Juan Carlos Arce, Damián Lizio (Bolívar), Alcides Peña (Oriente Petrolero), Marcelo Martins (Changchun Yatai), Ricardo Pedriel (Mersin).
